The educators would use their current process of assigning work, such as: Chalkboard, Google Docs, etc.
The students can use any 3D software they are learning or familiar with. The student would need to be able to export their work in the .STL file format for 3D printing.
Educators and students can use any collaboration method they are comfortable with such as: Zoom, Skype, Slack, Google Hangouts or Discord among some examples.
The educator can have the students upload their work to a desired destination they currently use to receive student work; Chalkboard, Google Drive or Dropbox as examples. The educator can then review the student’s model in the pre-installed 3D viewing programs on their computers or laptops. Once the educator approves the work they would then upload the models to their educator print folder connected to their account and 3D Herndon will begin the printing process.
After the student’s print is completed and verified it will be shipped using the information provided from the parent or guardian at registration. The prints will be delivered by USPS, FedEx or UPS depending on their Zip Code.
Students can use any 3D software with which they are familiar. A plethora of educational tutorials are available on the software manufacturer’s website. 3D Herndon also hosts a range of in-person and virtual workshops and training sessions on a variety of software.
